for teacher appreciation albums.....


i think that the remainder of the album photo instructions had all the details you will need. but i thought i'd add the tags. most tags have details on one side and a photo or note on the other. maybe this will help give you some ideas for your own tags!

the previous post has the tags and the layouts of the photos for the felt album or album number two.

the photos for the simple album or album number one are complete. you have the photo of the first tag, both sides. the second tag is plain on the back with a note of thanks.

here are the tags for the grungeboard hinge album or album number three.

first tag, side one.
first tag, side two. the heart was cut out from the Pink Paislee die cut sheet. LOVE that sheet!
second tag, side two. this was a scrap of cardstock, using one of the maya road rub-ons. i did the tearing and cutting after rubbing it on.

second tag, side two. just a photo. i had a valuable suggestion that a photo for a teacher gift does not always have to include the teacher and/or student. it could be the door to the classroom. or maybe an item in the classroom. or the school main doors. or school logo. this idea is helpful if you are making this last minute, or if your kids are older and not thrilled about photos.

again, e-mail or leave a comment if there was a question about the project. i hope that the recipients love these little gifts and appreciate the hard work that went into them. and have fun making more of these little books. you'll have to share your creations with me. i'd love to see your take on the idea.

first official scrapbooking class

was AWESOME!

i had a lot of fun. it was soooo good to teach again. and i was lucky to have a really great first class. all of the gals were a lot of fun and one even went on a coffee run for all of us! (thanks Jolaine for the huge sacrifice!)



i'll start with the felt album (labeled Album Two in your instructions)...it was the one we worked the hardest and longest on....

i think the inner pages will make up for the sweat you poured into all the stitching. here are the two pages that had photos since i didn't have the photos on my instruction sheet.


and, i realized later that i think i forgot to tell everyone..?! all of the quotes in the album were printed out on cardstock for you and included in your kit. you just needed to cut them out. or just copy them with your handwriting.

BUT for the poem in this album...i wanted to make it more "primary-ish" (don't tell the ATA that i make up my own words!) ......so before you cut out this poem...use your ruler and a thin marker to draw the bottom line, then the top line and then add dashes in between. (teacher trick!)


Here is the FIRST TAG in this album:

side two. (the photo is hiding the staple) i just glued some brown cardstock to the back of the journalling card. you could also just glue a photo. or leave it alone! i used the number and red striped ribbon.


here is the SECOND TAG in the felt album:

side one. (i added the brad to the flower and then used a glue dot to adhere it...this was in place of a ribbon)

side two.

you can trace the journaling card and get them to match. or just make sure that the width of the tag is less than 3 inches (this one is 2 1/2 inches), and that the width is more than 3 inches (this one is 3 1/2 inches).

i tried to design each of them so that they would work for teachers of different grades.

and i also love that the covers are completely generic! these don't have to go to teachers...it could also hilight a child's year at school. or it could be a gift to a friend or grandparent. or you could keep them yourself!

these little albums have pages that fold so that it creates pockets to hold tags, photos and even a gift card for Starbucks (or Timmy's...or 2nd Cup...Moxies...)

and something that i also love....each book is different! one has a hinge (something that you have to see to appreciate!). one has covers made of felt (no you don't need to know how to sew...easy stitching that kids have to do in school for art class). and one is just basic and simple.

once you have learned how to make one, you'll be able to make more very easily and quickly. i have used them for thank you gifts, and put them together from scratch in an hour. that includes thinking and planning time! yes, i have a lot of scraps....



and yes....so excited! this is my first class teaching....once i get the kits together and find out how many i have to make....then i'll have to think about what to wear....ooohhh...maybe i'll have to go shopping??
