2008 out with a bang!

so fun to have had lots of time to scrapbook these past few days. and i'm making the most of my time!

i actually liked this school photo i got this year. i had just spent at least 20 minutes helping the photographer take photos of a couple of my students. we had some autistic children, and they are not the greatest subjects to take pictures of the front of their faces! we had some props and did what we could to get them to look at the camera and stay still. so maybe i was really relaxed by the time my turn came?!

{and this company had our proofs returned to the school only a few days later....fastest i have ever seen! and those children that had so much trouble looking at the camera.....it was amazing! there were even hints of smiles!! one of our moms ended up crying when she saw the pictures....for the last 3 years they had not been able to get a good photo of their child. they ordered as much as they could afford!}

anyways....i had some rub-ons that were getting old. and as i glanced at them i realized that they would work to describe me. 'breathtaking', 'inspiring', 'naughty', 'sweet'....LOL i made them work! i used my cricut to cut the butterfly and the word 'faith'. i also had this pink cardstock sitting and waiting...i had used a heidi swapp mask and glimmer mist on one side but it hadn't worked. then i used white paint on the other side. and even tried to glimmer mist something on that side. whatever i did, it didn't suit why i was doing it! but i thought it worked well for this project. it didn't turn out quite how i had expected - like that ever happens anyway! but i did have a lot of fun.

my focus was a page about me. i think i succeeded. i also added more journaling on the back of the page. so i got some use out of both "unuseable" sides in the end!!

when i saw these papers by FancyPants i knew i didn't NEED them. but they looked so wintry and fresh. now i'm glad they found their way into my basket.

these photos are from last Christmas. {i haven't developed any snow photos from this year...yet!}

i cut all those snowflakes and swirls from plain white cardstock on my cricut.

added a few shades of glimmer mist. did some inking. layering. a fun process for me!

snow & ice AND COLD...what more do you need?"

yes that sums up Canadian Winter. at least here on the prairies!

have you made a scrapbook page to describe YOU? try it. it is a process.....but rewarding if you think about who you REALLY ARE.

link me your pages too! i'd love to look at them.
