another

he(art) project completed!

quote reads: "to maintain a joyful family requires much from both the parents and the children. Each member has to become, in a special way, the servant of the others. - Pope John Paul II"
i decided on the quote after i had done all the previous pages. all the pictures were of great and joyful memories. and as i thought about the message....i thought it was a great statement for our family! as well as an important reminder.
these are all fairly recent photos of us too. i printed them out on the new printer. with someone being sick at one time or another, it has been rare for us to have photos taken together. maybe we can pull off one winter family photo yet....
Wilna: thanks for the great projects! they are so fun to look at and a blast to create!!

more heart

this was part of Wilna's class too.

70 little hearts in total!

it was great to pull out my watercolours and paint away. these little hearts were so cute! and i love how they have worked so perfectly on my projects.

i finished the album project this week. can't wait to share the details with you!

this is kinda' funny. you know that sad feeling when summer camp is finished and you have to go back to life? or maybe that fun and relaxing vacation, and you are near tears as you head towards home? that is how i feel now, after this class is done. two weeks is a long time. but it went by so quickly!

for the love of...

COFFEE ! ! !

this was the first project i made in the he(art) class. is this not the coolest thing ever?!

these are the cards i made for inside the album. Wilna provided a template for them too. there were some amazing versions of this project made by other students in the class. incredible talent out there!
i have a few more coffee cups waiting for their turn to be recycled and made into art!!

happy VALENTINES day

we have a busy day ahead today. which has also followed a busy and very hectic week! i worked full-time during the day. after the kids were asleep i ignored my poor husband and crafted up a storm. my desk and work area tells that story well! it was the last week of Wilna's he(art) class. day one, i loved the project. i didn't think it could get better. the next day i was proven wrong. and so the class went on that kind of "wow" during the entire two weeks.

i just wished there were more hours in the day. or that i needed less sleep!

we had ten projects in all. (i think?! very close to that number anyway)

i did some retakes of my photos for the first project of the coffee cup album. i'll share them after i've sized them for the internet. i also did a cute heart box that holds cards. and i loved the cute little heart cards so much that i didn't want to give them away. lol! i turned them into a cute little heart album for us to keep. so fun!! i'll share pictures of that this week. i'm also in the process of putting together a handmade album. i want to choose some special photos....so that may be a while to complete. we'll see how the creative juices and time coincide! not very often do i oooh and aaah over projects as they are being made. every project i've made of Wilna's has made me do that so far.

one especially grabbed me.

if you could have seen Wilna's...this is definitely a lift of hers. i did think about a different colour pallette...different layout. but i loved hers so much...i wanted a version with our photos on it!
anyways...it was a blast to create. and now i have other ideas floating around in my head to make more. now, i just need some more wall space....
i have loved viewing the projects that others have made. so cool to see the project that was designed for us, and then view it through each others' eyes (or work!).

design school

homework!

my first assignment...

so i managed to catch up on the videos last night and this afternoon. and did some homework after the kids went to bed. i am still amazed that the page took only an hour...using kayla aimee's tutorial that is. but i did add some of my own flair to it. and i took time to practice a few things she recommended. an hour. that is impressive. all it takes is a good teacher....thanks KA!!! (yeah, we are now close personal friends since i became one of her students.....should have taken the class with me.....see what you're missing out on!)
top of the list.....i'm glad that i hadn't done a lot of digital scrapping on my own before. not long enough to form too many bad habits. even though i've played around with PSE for a few years now....i have learned some things to speed up the process. word of the week for me is "layers". and here i thought i had been using them.
this week we'll get into more intricate stuff i guess. and i'm thrilled to learn that they are planning for an intermediate class as well. can't wait to sign up for that one.
one digital designer i've admired for a long time is Rhonna Farrar. and Jessica Sprague. wow.
and i've seen some layouts on SIStv done digital that will knock your socks off too.
to name just a few.
can't name them all....must get to bed....but browse through these to start...and then jump to the next one...and before you know it the sun is rising and you haven't slept a wink. at least it was a good night?! lol!!
