all that glitters

is definitely not gold......this time!

here is the page i was talking about. with the replacement birdy. which i realize i forgot to add the dimensional paint to the eye. i do like it. i forgot to mention that i had used a really old rub-on from ChatterBox at the very top of the page. then i put my alphabet strip along the bottom of it....forgetting that i had actually wanted it to be where it is right now. but when i removed the ribbon....it took some of my rub-ons with it. so a little bit of creativity had to go into fixing that mistake. some pages are just like that.....maybe the mistakes were part of the divine act of God? we'll just keep that thought!

here i used up some extra supplies i had leftover from the teacher appreciation albums.

i love how the handprint turned out. Versamark on his hand, then he "stamped" his hand onto white cardstock. and then i used a bronze glitter embossing powder. i love how it captures the detail in his print. the best part was there was no permanent ink on his hand afterwards. and Versamark is also non-toxic. Kristian is most happy about that...if he knew!

here is a close-up of the glitter! the letters are new from Making Memories. notice how perfect they match the embossing powder on the handprint? thanks HP!

and i finished Kiara's first birthday page. i found some Doodlebug sugar-coated glitter...last bottle...lucky me! it is called "cupcake glitter". is that not appropriate for a birthday page?! i thought so too. if you really like glitter then you will love this kind. it comes in A LOT of colours. i know own two bottles. but i am soooo tempted to splurge and get a variety pack. the bottles are smaller, but you get several colours. and the best part is that this glitter really lasts....truly get your money's worth.

and it is hard to tell....but there is some pink splatters in the background....that is rose glimmer mist. i'll post the whole page tonight so you can see the glimmer mist effect better. and i'll explain how i did it too. and i'll have Aidan's first birthday pages to compare. that is the last of the baby albums.....part sadness...part relief!
