paper bag album

first time doing one of these.

and they were a huge craze a few years back. back when i was not so big into scrapbooking.

a colleague at school, Colleen, showed me one she had made in a workshop. it was - believe it or not! - the first one i had actually seen in real life!

basically, i used just THREE ordinary paper lunch bags.

turned the middle one around so it was opposite of the rest.

then folded the entire stack in half.

then added my paper! oh, i did choose my ribbon first. but i didn't tie it on until the end. keeping in mind that there would be ribbon in the middle. i could have stapled the binding. sewn it with my sewing machine. used my crop-a-dile and made a few holes...then used binder rings or ribbon or zip ties.

so simple....yet so many versions.

the majority of the paper is stuff that i got in my free box from Kim Loewen. the pics are leftovers from other projects (always nice to have some around...sometimes!). i did use scraps from some Jenni Bowlin. and i found some new Prima flowers that worked great. the Prima flowers were the ONLY thing that i actually went out and bought....everything else was found in my scrap area. (not sure if that is a good thing to admit....)

the openings (and in some cases, the fold-over bottom part) held tags. and it could hold even more....something to note!

so introduction is over.

take a look at my version.

nicely stuffed!
was she ever that little? so hard to believe!!
Stampin'Up and Basic Grey stamps. ink was a stampin' spot made my Stampin'Up. love those earthy tones they sell.

this pic was part of the birth announcement and thank you cards.

my friend, Kirsten, tipped me off on a cheaper way to get LOTS of flowers. buy them by the stem...then pull them apart.

the rub-on is by Crate Paper. another awesome company that i tend to "support"! lol

my all-time-favourite photo. well...let's be honest....one of my favourites!!

definitely my favourite dress. truth!! thanks Carmen!

can't forget about that back cover!
that's a good look at those tags and openings.
and now for some close-ups of the main flowers. every girl book needs some flowers! and some bling!!
3 flowers layered over the printed flower on the patterned paper.

the bottom flower is a die-cut from a sheet of Jenni Bowlin. did this at Urban. then scrunched it, inked the creases and the edges. fun!! that circle is actually a leftover from a die-cut flower. cut some prima flowers in half.
other side of the same tag. i added an extra flower with a brad here.
and that is was they look like from the side view. i like how it added more depth to each side of the tag.
you can see that i scrunched this die-cut flower too. and just layered them. some bling.
ta-da!
now on to other unfinished projects.....thanks for looking.

p.s. the background paper....by SEI...called Dill Blossom. love it! you'll see it again....
