don't ask

me why i chose to do a winter hockey layout during the middle of a heat wave!

because if you did, you would probably be shocked with my answer. unless my sub-conscious voice has a huge amount of persuasion....it had nothing to do with trying to stay cool.

i've just been avoiding going through my photos. i'm in process of doing it, but it is slow. so for this layout i used a photo that i had been meaning to scrap for a long time. it finally made it's way to the top of the pile.

this is My Minds Eye paper from 2007 spring. but there is also some cosmo cricket paper from this spring added in! to even things out i used basic grey letter stickers that came out last winter. with some doodlebug letter stickers that i just bought last month. the glitter is from stickles. LOVE that stuff! my heart wanted to buy all the colours last week...so hard to remember that my wallet has a stronger voice in times like that!

this is a new glimmer mist called "frost". and i just bought it this summer. i love it so much better than the stuff i bought during the winter. it has more sparkle and colour. and i cannot believe how perfect it was for this layout.

i tried a technique i've known about for a long time but never tried. i had pulled out some of Heidi Swapps' ghost letters {which i have had for two years...saving them....just a little crazy!} and wanted to use them for the layout. even had the spot picked and everything! then i started to distress and sand the red cardstock {the reverse of the background paper}. i had nothing to lose, so i popped those letters under the paper and sanded on top of them. loved the effect! then i used them as a mask for the glimmer mist. twice. and i still have the letters to use on another layout. sweet!

okay. now back to getting some photos chosen and printed. it is fun, but i'd much rather have them in my hands so that i can put them on a layout or project.
