hockey star

having fun with stickles and glimmer mist.....

the photos were not all the same size. i loved this American Crafts paper...but can you believe the only star i had on had was grungeboard?! this is quite the medly of companies....also got some Making Memories in there too.

i had SO MUCH FUN distressing this star. it was one big experiment!
sometimes a layout doesn't have to be this perfectly measured and perfectly aligned page. sometimes it just has to be fun. a story about the theme....but also a story about the artist behind the page. the story here for me is two-fold:
Aidan learning to try to ice skate and use a hockey stick and hit a "puck" on his own, for the first time. i did not want my page to be "perfect" and follow the rules. i wanted it to be fun and wacky....just like the moment as Aidan worked on his new skills.
isn't that what scrapbooking is really about?
