dream and imagine....

here is the next layout for our July Year in Review Class....

Photobucket

can you believe there is not a single flower here?!!

although...you could definitely add some to this layout. it would change it completely. but it would still work! i love that.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined. (Henry David Thoreau)

another quote i found...had the perfect technique....but didn't work on this layout...
What God intended for you goes far beyond anything you can imagine. (Oprah Winfrey)

i think both quotes fit how i was feeling as i put it together. i encourage my kids to dream. and dream big. at the same time, i need to follow my own advice too.

there are actually a few techniques here. the main technique centres on the Kraft Glassine Paper. oh the possibilities with this material!! {aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!} *wink*

i LOVE all the textures on the glassine.

these are "movers and shapers"....a type of steel rule die from Tim Holtz. they are designed to fit inside of a larger shape {like the tag or or even a photo} did you see his 12 Tags of Christmas....he used "wish" and "joy" and "love" inside the snowman and the ornament. these are the same type of die. just larger and a cool font.

i am so sure i saw a sample using one of the words in a photo. maybe it was one of the samples from his booth? i can't remember! maybe i dreamt it up?! well, it looked amazing. just haven't spent time doing a search for the right photo to try it myself....but i will.

these little pen nibs are amazing. so fun! just one of those items that works on nearly everything.

yes, you can see some of the texture here. my lips are sealed! you will have to join us in class to learn about it.

when i finish a layout i love to share it with my family and ask their opinion. the kids are always so cute with their comments! the poor sweethearts have a very high scrapbooking vocabulary. Kris is honest. or as honest as he dares! ha! this layout was no different. i was pleased with how it turned out. but he was silent when he looked at it. immediately i thought, "oh no. what did i screw up?" {usually when he is silent like that, he is looking for the kind words to let me down easy.} instead of the 'slow honest comments' he actually gave his opinion on what the layout made him think about. deep stuff! {he went on about the kids being the age that they are at...how quickly the time has gone...how time will continue to speed on...how much they will continue to grow and change....our dreams for them....their dreams for themselves....}

feels like summer officially started today. so far we are off to a great start. i am over a week ahead of schedule now. i managed to finish my tags for our next tag swap. wahoooo! the girls are going to be completely shocked. i think i'll get that design team layout done early too. at least i hope! i want to finish a project for Kiara i started a few months ago and had to abandon. it would feel good to have it done, and she would enjoy it in her room. i enjoy little projects like that....just fun to mess around and play with stuff. lets hope the rest of the week goes as well as today did. considering most of June i felt like i was playing catch-up, this feels awesome to be ahead of the game!
