Ride to Conquer Cancer

i thought i'd take a moment to brag about someone special.....



i had to make an adjustment to my regular scrapbook classes at Urban Scrapbook this month. partly due to the Canada Day weekend. and partly due to a commitment that Kristian has made in June.

Kristian has been a huge supporter and encourager for me to create layouts and teach classes at Urban Scrapbook. i could not have been able to do this if it were not for his support.

June 22 and 23 will have him participating in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer.

a few months ago we thought that his Dad was not going to live long enough to see the leaves sprout. he has been battling a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for 13 years. typically patients don't live longer than 10 years with is particular cancer. only a few weeks before he was diagnosed with Stage 4 a new drug was allowed to be administered that could potentially cure his dad of this type of cancer. so far he has been reacting well to it. we don't know if it is gone yet, but the horizon looks a little brighter. Kris is dedicating this ride to his Dad.

please consider supporting Kristian or another rider/team in this fundraising event. the fantastic part is that the money raised in this event will go directly to support patients here in Alberta. we all know someone who conquered cancer or is fighting cancer. i really hope that it will be a different story for our children at our age.
