distress ink markers

when the Distress Stains were introduced last year i was overjoyed! love, love, love them!!

this year Tim brought out his Distress Markers. awesome!

and perfect timing.

because i was in need of some good markers. i'm thrilled because they also coordinate with the ink pads. i now have more options.

i thought it would be fun to make a tag to demonstrate a few of the uses of the markers.

Photobucket

this is the sample of the tag that we will be making. {this Thursday at Urban Scrapbook.}

yes, that butterfly was completely coloured using only 3 of the markers and a water brush.

those markers have all the noteworthy properties of the Distress Ink Pads and Stains. they are water based. don't confuse them with Copic Markers. Copics are alcohol based and not the same thing.

Mario and Tim tweeted just around Christmas time a video made by an artist, Brett Weldele. they both tweeted another video of his yesterday. here is the link to the recent video. he creates fantasy art using the Distress Ink products. even if you are not a fan of this type of art, it is fascinating watching his technique. (he has a few videos posted on YouTube.)

anyone else taking Tim's online class right now? Creative Chemistry. i am so happy that i signed up. i don't think it is too late to register. if you are able, i would totally recommend it. it has a lifetime membership, so you can go back and review the videos and download the class info even after the class is over. i don't know about you, but it sometimes takes me a few months to process new information and understand what i'm doing! even my kids have enjoyed watching the videos and learning. they are also fans of Tim Holtz. i love that he explains the "chemistry" behind the products he uses as well as puts them to work on a technique or 2 or 20.
