seriously?

the summer of '12 was not quite long enough.

we have had the best of the Alberta weather. it was great to have very few days with cold or too wet of weather. i started to feel more like myself in the past couple of weeks. it has felt good! i'm looking forward to the surgery now...anxious to be past that looming date on my calendar....and past the healing afterwards....i'm mentally looking forward to the date when my condition will no longer be a mystery and there are no more antibiotics on my counter! oh, the plans i have!!

i think i've stored up some creative energy too. with the month or so that i had to abandon my craft room, and the nearly painful start to get those creative ideas started again....i think i managed to hit an overdrive button. which is totally nothing to complain about!! i'm quite excited and i hope that it keeps up the pace.

i finished our design team page early this month. gasp! i'll share photos next week. then i had the urger to scrapbook for me.

for most of the year i've used sketches to create my pages. it felt odd not to use one now. i don't think i used one for this page. although i do recall browsing the web to find some inspiration. hmmmm....it's a Scrapbook Mystery!

this time i started with the photo, then found the papers and embellishments. Kristian took this photo of us at the Calgary Zoo a few weeks ago. i love scrapping a photo that is brand new!

i had just bought some of the new Crate Paper Little Bo Peep. i was so happy to use that so quickly too. there is some Carta Bella Paris Girl and i think a few Glitz papers. a vellum sheet from American Crafts. the flowers and the majority of the embellishments are Prima.

i loved how the papers behind my photo are mixed together. it was a technique i had been wanting to try for awhile. i was a bit worried that it wouldn't work with my style, but i think it works fine. i've also been admiring the incomplete edge punched look too. another technique i want to try again.

LOTS of foam pop dots for this one!!

i did a lot of moving around to keep the *365* visible.

some prima and iamroses flowers worked perfectly together. i didn't do any fancy colour changing for them. as well as a few buttons i've been hoarding. and some pins. i love flower clusters.

the kids start school next week and i have most of the first week planned already. top of my list is to get my scrapbook projects finished early. i'm trying a new thing. it's called "not over thinking a layout". i've noticed that the layouts i've done where i've just gone with my heart have been my personal favourites. if there is a fancy technique involved....that is different! for those i like to play with the inks or whatever i am using. and those times are fun, though they can be quite lengthy!

our September class Year In Review layout is one where i spent many hours playing with a few techniques. as well as browsing the Silhouette store. {purchased several designs i was sure would be perfect for this layout...and didn't end up using. love that!}

here is a sneak peak....

a LITTLE sneak peak!

you are looking at 3 different cutting files from Silhouette.

there is a lot of product on these pages. i'll share the full layout next week.

i hope you enjoy the long weekend coming up. i should be posting more regularly in September. looking forward to that!

  1. Love the layering on your layout, Roxanne! That combination of papers is lovely and the cluster of flowers are soooo pretty!
